Backpacking Global Awareness Initiative, also known as Backpackers Lagos, is a registered non-for-profit organisation with the aim of promoting tourism as a tool for sustainable economic development for Africa. We are therefore promoting afro-tourism and eco-tourism, nature preservation and conservation advocacy, tours, travels, event and local adventure.
Backpacking Global Awareness Initiative was founded in 2015 but incorporated in 2018 officially with the Corporate Affairs Commission as an NGO with a commitment in promoting backpacking related activities.
Currently, we are the biggest backpacking group in Nigeria with over 1000 members in Lagos, 150 members in Enugu, 200 members in Port Harcourt and 250 Backpackers in Abuja. Backpacking in simple terms means affordable adventure, tourism, hiking, camping experience, promoting nature and healthy living.
